Once again under the production of Blow Monkey main man Dr Robert and backed up by the regular Monks Road Crew including Matt Deighton, Mick Talbot, Steve White, Ben Trigg and Crispin Taylor they now introduce new flavours to the mix. New voices , fresh perspectives.
Take young Romy Deighton ( Matts daughter) singing a heart-breaking version of one of her fathers best known songs ‘Jesse” while the incomparable Angelina gets an actual ex Rolling Stone Dick Taylor to play a timeless guitar solo on “Bird Calling”.
Elsewhere catch Mercury nominated singer Kathryn Williams duetting with Dr Robert on the electro/folk pulse of “ I Aint Running Anymore” whilst soul singing phenomena Sulene Fleming tears it up on “ Ok! Have It Your Way”..coming on like a unknown Northern Soul stomper lost, and forgotten in the rafters of the Wigan Casino..waiting to be rediscovered and danced anew.
There’s the sweet soul seduction of up and coming sensations Hague & White on the irresistible. “ If It Was All Down To Me” plus the very first solo outing for Stone Foundation frontman Neil Jones on the contagious “ Autumn Leaves” .
